Displayed on this website are a series of paintings that reinterpret images of nebulae and galaxies taken by the Hubble Telescope. Each image is inspired by the shapes that already exist in the nebulae, combining them with living forms, such as people or animals. Working with acrylic on canvas, I use these human elements to play with the sense of scale and relatability of space, at once celebrating the majestic forms out there in the universe and also bringing them back down to earth. I highly recommend viewing the original source images along with their inspired paintings.
